About the Cryptid Research Institute
The Cryptid Research Institute was founded in the summer of 2025 by Dr. Robert Potter, a Certified Cryptozoological Investigator (CCI) through ParaNexus.com. With academic roots at Thomas Francis University, Dr. Potter established the Institute as a hub for the study and documentation of cryptids and a wide range of anomalous events.

What do we mean by anomalous events?
These are experiences or phenomena that fall outside the boundaries of conventional explanation. They include:

• Cryptids – creatures such as Bigfoot, Mothman, lake monsters, and other beings not recognized by mainstream science.

• Paranormal Activity – hauntings, apparitions, and unexplained spiritual phenomena.

• UFOs / UAPs – unidentified aerial phenomena and possible encounters of extraterrestrial origin.

• Psychokinetic Events – occurrences where the mind appears to influence matter or energy, such as telekinesis or unexplained movement of objects.

• High Strangeness – events that defy categorization, including time anomalies, mysterious lights, or interdimensional encounters.

• Other Unexplained Phenomena – any extraordinary experience that cannot be dismissed by ordinary means.
  
  

Our mission is threefold:

1. Investigation & Documentation – To research, analyze, and archive reports of anomalous encounters with professionalism and care.

2. Witness Support – To provide a safe and confidential space for individuals to share their experiences without judgment.

3. Collaboration – To connect with other research groups, organizations, and investigators who specialize in different aspects of anomalous study.
